THE LATEST FROM THE CONNAUGHT CLUB

Bro. Jack Thornborough – Chairman of the Connaught Club – gives an update on what's going on with the young masons in London.

I must say it was a greatly welcomed return to meeting one another in person at our first monthly drinks in July 2021. I'm pleased to report that both the monthly drinks and our Burgoyne Lodge No 902 on 10th July meeting were well attended and enjoyed. A great deal has happened since the last update!

There is so much to look forward to with Autumn approaching. As the warm weather fades, we look forward to the club's inaugural Clay Pigeon Shoot, followed by what is stacking up to be a delightful and fun dinner. The Club is actively exploring ways to introduce new events – although, of course, our annual staple, the Club’s Christmas Dinner, returns once more on the 17th of December at the Oriental Club. Full details on how to apply for a ticket should appear in each Club member’s mailbox shortly. Places will be limited, so don't miss out!

If you are not already a member of the Connaught Club, are under 35, and either a London mason or you live or work in London and are a member of a Lodge outside of London, why not consider joining? The membership costs only £40 per year (£25 after the first year) and it enables you to attend all the great events that we put on throughout the year to get young masons across London together for our famously roaring social events, seminars and Lodge meetings.

You can sign up for the Connaught Club online on our website at connaughtclub.org. If you prefer, you can drop an email to our membership secretary Maceo at membership@connaughtclub.org.

Now that we've successfully exited the long, arduous journey through various lockdowns, the members of the Committee are raring to go to put all of the plans we cooked up over zoom meetings into motion. We are all immensely looking forward to offering Members a very warm welcome when their schedules allow.

We hope to see as many of you as possible soon and we wish you all a very happy end to the summer.
